Geocache Description:

Enjoy a nice walk along the old railway line to this cache. The tree cover may have sent the co-ordinates out a tad, but if you are walking with the golf course on your left, the cache is up the bank on the right. You should notice a small dirt path, go up that and use cachers instinct.

The Scarborough and Whitby Railway was well known to many thousands of tourists who spent their holidays on this part of the Yorkshire coast between 1885 and 1965.
The railway was closed in 1965 due to the beeching cuts. The owners of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway looked at buying the track but due to costs settles on their current line.

The picture in the background is of the old Ravenscar station.

Please log all DNF's so I can keep track on it.
