We got Buddy when he was five years old, two years ago as a rescue from the States. He originally belonged to an 85 year old man, who unfortunately fell over Buddy and ended up with a broken hip. When the paramedics came, the old man wouldn't let go of Buddy until they promised to find him a good home. The old man passed away without ever returning home. We saw a photo of Buddy on line and fell in love with him. He was house trained and loveable when we got him, but needed obedience classes. We took him through the first two levels and now he is an absolute joy to have. His favorite things to do are runs at the Bruce Pit Dog Park and running up and down the hill behind the cottage trying to catch chipmunks. When he wants to go outside, he jumps straight up and down at the back door. When he wants to go out at night, he will come to my side of the bed and make a huffing noise to wake me up. He is very laid back and gets along with all other dogs and people. Unfortunately he is not good with newborns; he thinks they are prey because of the mewing noises they make. So, have to keep him away from newborns. We call him our big old goofball. We love you Buddy.
March 2013 update: Unfortunately, our beloved Buddy has passed away. He had liver/kidney cancer and we couldn't save him. He was such a good dog, absolutely broke our hearts to have to put him down; awful time. He went surrounded by love. My Buddy Boy, mommy misses you; thank you for enriching our lives with your love. We have his ashes and he will be buried with my husband and I. We will be together again some day.
