We have known SUSIE for five years, but have been her owners for only a year. SUSIE is a terrier mix. Originally, she belonged to my daughter, who got Susie when she was just a wee pup; Jen wanted her first born to have a dog to grow up with. Unfortunately, when Jacob was about 3, he started to get to rough with little SUSIE; lifting her by her head, squeezing her to tightly, and doing karate and wrestling moves on her. At that point she started to bite Jacob, so we decided it was time for SUSIE to come and live with grammy. Her favorite things to do are to go for runs in the Ottawa Bruce Pit Dog Park, roll in anything that is yucky and stinky and just sit on a lap and get lots of loving. She sleeps in our bed with us at night and always burrows down under the blankets. She is very fearful of storms and shakes continuously while they occur; needs to be held and reassured that everything is OK until the storm passes. She is a very sweet, lovable girl and we just love her.
UPDATE: March 29, 2013. Unfortunately our dear little Susie had to be put down today. Our little angel lost the use of her back legs overnight and was in a tremendous amount of pain for the past 24 hours. We took her to the vet and she died peacefully in our arms, surrounded by love. Susie, thank you for the many gifts you have given us, your loyalty and abundant love. We will miss you terrible, every day. We were so fortunate to share your life and will always cherish and love you. Sleep well my little angel, mommy loves you.
