Micro sized cache located at the Hopewell Day Lodge area - placed with permission. If the lodge is in use please plan to come back another time.

The Hopewell Day Lodge area provides a nice place for families and friends to meet and enjoy their day at Caesar Creek State Park. From this area you can hike along part of the 13 mile perimeter loop trail that runs along the contour of the southern half of the lake. This trail has blue and yellow blazes - the blue as it is part of the buckeye trail. Smaller side trails will have white blazes and can take you to the old sugar camp or great views of the lake.

Caesar Creek Lake offers a wide variety of recreational opportunities. There is something for everyone; the camper, hiker, horseback rider, sportsman, boater, fossil collector and more. The project includes 2,830 acres of water and 7,720 acres of land.

Visitors should begin their tours at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Visitor Center, the overlook and the dam areas. The Visitor Center offers a wide variety of displays and presentations covering a variety of topics including wildlife, fossils and construction of the dam. Visitor Center hours are normally 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday and
Sunday.

Picnic areas are located at the Visitor Center, Flat Fork Ridge and Tail Water recreation sites. Each area has parking, picnic tables, grills, water fountains and restroom facilities.

For the more energetic visitor there are over 40 miles of trails.

From the Visitor Center take the short 1/5 of a mile trail, the 3/4 mile trail, or start the 13 mile trail which goes around the southern portion of the lake. More trails are accessible from the horseman's camp off Furnas-Oglesby road.

The cache is only a short distance form the parking area. If the lodge is in use please be respectful and plan a return visit.
