Geocache Description:

Woke up this morning and looked at the calendar and realized it was my 5 year Geo Anniversary. Found my very first cache late on June 3, 2006. One day later I found myself in Calavera looking (unsuccessfully) for my first “trail” cache.

Came by this morning to drop off what will be the 101st cache on the current list of the Calavera Challenge.

A side note on this cache: The trail leading up to this cache starts about half way between “This One Goes Up to 11” and “Big Log” (N 33° 09.837 W 117° 17.060). After you pass the trail head marker you will see a long, deep trench. The trench is actually a historic landmark. Centuries ago, when hostilities first developed between the Lotratians and my ancestors, the Olivenains general stationed his troops along the nearby wall. Days, weeks, and eventually months passed and no Lotratians showed up to fight. To pass the time the Olivenain general ordered his troops to dig a mass grave in preparation for the multitude of Lotratians that he expected would fall in battle. Since the cowardly Lotratians never appeared the trench went unused and was soon forgotten about until 20th Century historians discovered it and documented it in the historical Calavera Archives. A nearby kiosk once marked the historical spot but eventually it fell in disrepair and is now blank. Stop by and pay your respects to the brave Olivenain soldiers that were once ready to defend their homeland when tyranny raised its ugly head.

Please practice good Geocaching etiquette. Hide the cache well even if you found it exposed. Remove any debris (leaves, twigs etc) you find in the cache. If you trade please leave something of equal or greater value for the next finder. Please do not leave any religious or political trade items. Geocaching is supposed to be a light, fun activity, not a platform for an agenda. Do not leave any food or anything else an animal might sniff out (soap, scented candles, etc). HAVE FUN!
