MarshallOD and I found a perfectly formed figure 8, made of
lichen, on January 27th, 2011, while climbing uphill from the now
archived "The Meadow" cache. We marked the position then, always
intending to return to place a cache here.
Today we hiked the trail to Hidden Valley; hence the cache name
of the "Hidden 8." It's completely hidden from view until you
arrive. Once you do, it's on the west face of a large, table top
rock. The cache is a decon container hidden directly below the
8.
Getting to the cache is a scramble any way you come, and of
course you get to choose the path. Be safe, as you'll be well out
of sight from the trail.
