LTH-1883 Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

-allenite-: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future (within 60 days), just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

Ammo container located in a traditional manner in a small Laketown park. Please replace as you find it. Difficulty rating should almost be a 1 except that the GPS can have difficulty getting a signal with the trees. Filled initially with lots of kid-friendly swag. Watch for poison ivy in the area.

Laketown Twp was first settled in 1847 by Dutch immigrants, but it wasn't until 1883 that the first township hall was erected. Located at this site, the township hall served Laketown from 1883-1987. In 1988 township offices moved to Beeline road, but this structure remains today. The building itself can be used for meetings per the township website. Located on one acre (please respect the neighbors on the others sides of the fences), there is a picnic table and room for small family outings. We've driven by this location MANY times not realizing it was there!
