At 87 yards long Ellesmere Tunnel is one of the shortest on the UK canal system. However, it is still dark, damp and drippy, and rumoured to be haunted by a woman whose lifeless body was found floating in the tunnel more than 100 years ago; she is reported to be buried in an unmarked grave in the nearby church. The area this listing is concerned with is the eastern side of the tunnel, towards Colemere.
The co-ordinates on this listing are not for the cache itself, but for the point which you should start at before using the hint below. The cache is a camouflaged micro cache containing a logbook and tiny pencil, and you will need a torch to find it! The area can be very busy with boaty muggles during the daytime, especially in the summer and especially if the weathers nice! Nearby Blakemere is popular with fishermen, and the whole area is popular with walkers and dogwalkers too... so it can be muggle central! Also, you may find that you need an implement, such as a pen or stick to retrieve the cache from it's hidey hole :)
WARNING! You may find yourself in the dark and close to water during your search for this cache, so please be careful, particularly with children and dogs, and make sure you have a torch. The water in this area is often only 3 feet deep, but please be careful all the same. There is also an A road running across above the tunnel with two paths up out onto it from the canal, so again please be careful particularly with children and dogs (I always put my dog on a lead here).
