St Andrew's State Park is a 1200 acre wildlife preserve and
state recreation area that sits on two barrier islands that form an
inlet between the Gulf of Mexico and the Grand Lagoon. The main
park is developed with amenities, roads and trails. The other half
of the park is Shell Island, accessible only by boat or ferry and
is undeveloped. The park has nearly two miles of beautiful white
sand beaches. There is an abundance of land and sea life. In the
1940s it was a military reservation used as a lookout point. It
became a state park in the 1950s.
This is an offset scuba cache. Scuba gear is required for
retrieving the first stage. For the first part you will be looking
for a Granite block placed in memory of a young man named Danny
McKinnon. The above coordinates should put you pretty close to it.
The block sits at a depth of 35'. I could not get exact coords as
my gps does not work well at 35'.

Use the parking lot at the Kiddy Pool and jetty area to park.
Set up your equipment either in the parking lot or at the pavilion
area where there are picnic tables and shade available. Use the
boardwalk to access the beach and do a shore entry into the water
at the kiddy pool. I recommend you enter through a break in the
rocks towards the center of the Jetty. Once you cross over the
rocks the Granite block should be to the right approximately 15
yards at a depth of 35'.
You will need the dates of Birth and Death on the granite block
to complete the following equation and ultimately find the final
location.
(Birth Month) = A
(Birth Day) + (3) = B
(Birth Month) - (5) = C
(Birth Day) - (1) = D
(Death Day) - (1) = E
(Death Month) - (1) = F
Final Location
N30° 7.ABC
W085° 44.DEF
This cache was placed with permission from Saint Andrews State
park Manager - Brian Addison. Per Mr. Addison's request we
recommend caution when retrieving the final. Alligators and snakes
are known to frequent the surrounding area throughout the year.
Please be aware of your surroundings when looking for this or any
cache in the park.
