Geocache Description:

** NB: To ensure the cache complies with NPWS Guidelines please do not leave any travel bugs, coins, path tags, or 'swaps' in the cache. Thank you! **

This cache was placed to coincide with my 5th Geocaching Anniversary. As much as I may be a bit of a numbers hound, I also love a good walk in the bush.

This cache has been placed with the approval of the Ranger in charge of Nattai National Park.

To find the cache you will need to follow the marked walking track to Bonnum Pic. The track is a 16km (return) journey that can be done as a day walk (it took me 4.5hours), or can be done as a relaxing overnight journey. The track can at times be difficult to follow as it is becoming overgrown. If you are not confident with navigation then I can supply you with a GPSr track log upon request, however this will knock a couple of difficulty stars off the cache. This is an area for the seasoned bushwalker only. Do not attempt this cache without a map and compass (a mapping GPSr will not suffice). Bring plenty of water and be warned, there are 100 to 150+m cliffs along the walk, and towards the end of the Pic there are some very exposed sections, including one scrabble that is quite exposed and often requires a hand line and belay. The cache itself is placed at the end of the Pic in a rock crack. The cache is NOT the NPWS Log Book.

When I walked out here it had been raining and there were lots of rock pools of water; this water, however, cannot be relied upon!

Enjoy your walk and admire the amazing views of Wanganderry Walls, the Wollondilly River Valley and the bottom end of Lake Burragorang. If you know what you are looking for you can see such famous Blue Mountains landmarks as Mount Colong, Yerranderrie Peak, The Blue Breaks and Byrnes Gap. On a clear day you can see right through Byrnes Gap towards Narrow Neck and Katoomba.

Once you have been out here and have a 'feel' for what it looks like, you will easily be able to pick it out when flying Melbourne-Sydney, the flights almost always fly over here.

Happy Walking!

NB - The additional waypoints were taken on the run and were not averaged in any way.
