There is a decided lack of caches in this corner of Leicestershire so here are a few cache and dashes to help alleviate this.
This cache is a nano with a magnet in the bottom - please ensure you replace it carefully for those who come after you.
It is not required for you to move, disturb or climb anything to locate this cache, the hint should make it very obvious.
Important Note: The log book is quite tight inside the container and will probably get tighter as the roll is used more - it is therefore recommended that you bring along a pair of tweezers.
The terrain has been put at one-star as the cache is accessible for wheelchairs. There is quite a lot to see in the village although transportation is required to get there.
The Village
Wymondham is a village near Melton Mowbray in the county of Leicestershire in the East Midlands of England. The parish has a population of about 600. It is close to the county borders of Lincolnshire and Rutland. It has a windmill which is a popular visitor attraction and the village also has a primary school, a post office with shop and a pub with a fine restaurant.
In the grounds of the windmill are several craft workshops together with some small shops, including one selling wholefoods; there is also a tearoom.
A disused railway line (part of the Midland & Great Northern Joint Railway branch line between Saxby and Bourne) runs just to the north of the village. The Edmondthorpe and Wymondham railway station closed to passengers in 1959 although the line remained open for ironstone freight, and HM Queen Elizabeth journeyed along it in 1967. The route was also used for holiday trips from Leicester to Skegness. The former goods yard, goods shed, station, station house and navvies' cottage (Grade II Listed) are passed when travelling from the village along Butt Lane towards the windmill.
