Geocache Description:

The Texas Spirit Quest
is a series of Caches placed by many individuals, near cemeteries and historic sites in hopes of paying respect to the many pioneer ancestors that have ‘walked’ before us.

There are hundreds of cemeteries in the rural communities across Texas. This series will introduce you to many of them. The cache pages will provide a virtual history tour of the cemeteries, tombstones and local lore.

This is the site of a single grave, for John Richards, who was born in England in 1823 and whose date of death was 1897. The marker reads "He was an honest man."

There is a fair amount of traffic here, so be cautious, especially as the best parking is on the south side of the road, roughly opposite the cache. You should pull over to the east of the mailboxes so as not to block the driveways. Note that the Terrain rating is tweaked higher a bit as a warning against the plentiful cacti scattered about. As always, any refinements to the listed coordinates are welcomed.
