SALSBRUKET
I bunnen av Opløfjorden i Nærøy kommune(Ytre Namdal) finner du det
gamle industristedet Salsbruket. Opløfjorden var nok kjent lenge
før tresliperiet og Colett bygde opp industristedet. Opløfjorden
var viden kjent langs kysten som en av de beste sildefjordene i
landet. Opløelva var engang ei god lakseelv som var fiskbar langt
opp mot Lie. Ellers var Opløfjorden kjent for sagbruk/høvleri og
mølle. I 1905 startet Colett-familien byggingen av Tresliperiet på
Salsbruket som ble stedets livsnerve fram til den fatale brannen i
1985. Tresliperiet ble ikke gjenoppbygget, og 115 arbeidere mistet
da jobben.

Municipality (Outer Namdal) you will find the old industrial site
Salsbruket. Opløfjorden was probably known long before the pulp
mill and Colette built manufacturing site. Opløfjorden was widely
known along the coast as one of the best herringfjords in the
country. Opløelva was once a good salmon river. Otherwise
Opløfjorden was known for its sawmill / planing mill and mill. In
1905 Colette family started the construction of the pulp mill at
Salsbruket that were the lifeblood of the site until the fatal fire
in 1985. Pulp mill was not rebuilt, and 115 workers lost then the
job.
