Little known hide away, GC overgrow history
“The Old Fireplace” This section of Nowra road is another one worth stopping and taking in the beautiful scenery. Many people would have driven along this road and never given a second thought to to remnants of history now overgrowing by the roadside. Cross the little bridge on Red Hills road and stop for lunch by a beautiful rock lined bubbling section of the Bundanoon creek. Some 40 - 50 years ago this place was used for picnics at the creek crossing, in days before the bridge was built. The residences of Red hills road would often be cut of from the main road and schools when this creek was in flood. As can be seen by the photo that has been put on the cache page. It was also used for small swimming on really hot days. (Thanks "Bushies") No hints here the name says it all. Congrats to "Rock-Hopper" FTF
