I was forced to remove the original Just Because several months
ago. We've always liked this place and decided to re-boot the cache
here.
apGirl2000 (formerly FobesGurl) brought this container home from a
summer camp with a science theme called PowerLab. When I saw the
container I started looking it over and was told in no uncertain
terms, "You can't have that for a cache!"
I was somewhat relentless in my pursuit of the container until one
day apGirl2000 presented it to me wrapped in camouflage tape and
told me to hide it, "Just Because". Today we went together to a
great area to find a place to hide it. We hope you enjoy the walk
along the river.
The best coordinates for parking are given below. The area is
fantastic, Eagles are often observed perched in the high branches
of the trees around here. You could see Blue Herons, Goldfinches,
Red Wing Blackbirds, Grasshoppers, Garter Snakes and a variety of
other flora and fauna that might think a riverside Wildlife Habitat
area would be a good place to call home.
In the summer time when the Pink Salmon (otherwise known as
humpies) are running this area of the river is extremely popular
with fishermen. The cache is hidden in an area that does not
provide easy fishing access to the river however so I suspect that
you will not encounter too many people while looking for it.
The cache itself is a six inch long screw cap tube tied to a tree
using fishing line. The area often floods but I am hopeful that
this container secured in this manner will stand the test of
time.
