Harry the Hedgehog Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

hal-an-tow: I was somewhat doubtful about found it logs from complete beginners here, when experienced cachers spent time and effort and only had DNFs. I contacted recent finders to ask what (and where) they found ( the replacement cache was unusual and I'd expect finders to comment on it, especially new cachers ...) but got no response.
Today I spent 15 minutes crawling around GZ, and am absolutely sure that the cache is no longer there.

The area has accumulated quite a lot of rubbish, so is no longer a nice place to search.
Time for Harry to go .

Geocache Description:

This cache is a slightly unusual micro container sited along a footpath near Mill Lane . It is intended to be a more challenging find than the other hedgehog caches ! You will need to bring a pen to sign the log.
This caches original container has gone : it is now a micro in a slightly larger outer container : please don't try to get the pot out , just pop the lid !

This cache is designed to be found on a circular walk of about 2 miles (just over 3km) using Mill Lane Bridle Path which runs between Smeeton Westerby and Kibworth and a parallel footpath with a short linking roadside section on the busy Kibworth Road (on a narrow verge which would be unsuitable for pushchairs). The caches "Heisenberg the Hedgehog" , "Tiny the Hedgehog" , "Hodgeheg" and "Norma the Hedgehog" are also located along this walk this leaflet has a useful map .
Roadside parking is at the start of Mill Lane by the pub.
Harry the Hedgehog was one of Norma's litter of three hoglets .When small they would follow their mum in a line (like ducklings) towards the saucer of catfood . Soon a saucer was not big enough and an old dinner plate was deployed - hedgehogs have appalling table manners and they would paddle gleefully around in their food making appreciative loud chomping noises ,then crash around the undergrowth looking for slugs for pudding . Each time a hoglet encountered another they would make huffing noises , presumably of territorial irritation . Often it sounded as if the garden had an infestation of tiny steam engines .
Hedgehogs like to range quite far and I knew that the hoglets would need to move on and leave the enclosed garden to Norma ( who was blind and would not survive in the wild ). Harry the hedgehog was taken to to my sister's garden where he hung around for a week or so , until they built him a lovely luxury nestbox , when he promptly left !

The original container has been replaced (Feb. 2014) : I believe this one will be much easier to find : please rehide well to avoid mugglement .
Congratulations Lansdown first to find this cache , and first to find all 4 original hedgehog caches !
