Geocache Description:

Parking for 2 cars near the north trail head, more parking near the junction of route 20 and Holcomb Street.

You can park on the south trail head on Hatchet Hill Road.

The usual Metacomet Trail conditions, rocks, roots, mud, ticks, snakes, fall offs, ups and downs, some steep.

Cache container is a small lock and lock.

This is a series of caches placed along the blue blazed Metacomet Trail in the Turkey Hills, some easy and some NOT!

The name comes from a cache I had along this part of the trail that was placed in a turkey decoy and was stolen! I have been waiting 4 years or so for someone to hide caches here.

The series of 8 caches can be done from the trailhead near Route 20 or from Hatchet Hill Road. As the crow flies, the gps said its 1.71 miles one way but since we can't fly, plan on 4 or 5 miles round trip.

Keep in mind that alot of the trail on the east side is owned and posted by the nearby quarry.

There will be 5 more caches placed south of Hatchet Hill Road.
