High Sandstone Towers - Royston to Walton Canal Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Dalesman: This cache has been in need of care and maintenance for some time and as the owner has not repaired it I am archiving it.

Guidelines: "You are responsible for occasional visits to your cache to maintain proper working order, especially when someone reports a problem with the cache (missing, damaged, wet, etc.). You may temporarily disable your cache to let others know not to search for it until you have a chance to fix the problem. This feature is to allow you a reasonable amount of time - normally a few weeks - in which to check on your cache. If a cache is not being maintained, or has been temporarily disabled for an unreasonable length of time, we may archive the listing."

If you wish to email me please send your email via my profile (click on my name) and quote the cache name and number.

Many thanks,

Geocache Description:

The Barnsley Canal ran for about 16 miles between Wakefield and Barugh which is west of Barnsley, England. It is not open for navigation, although some sections are in water. The journey runs from north to south and is part of the Trans Pennine Trail.

The cache is place on the Royston to Walton trail which I have walked many years ago.

My accomplice (a muggle I'm trying to convert) knows this area very well and used to live and play beside this lovely stretch as a boy and has many memories too of fun and mischief.

So we got upto some too. My dear accomplice even let me stand on his shoulders.

The snap lock contains a logbook and pencil plus room for small TB's and swaps.

Good luck and go steady.
