IST ( 9,6km² und 200 Einwohner) ist eine Insel im Adriatischen
Meer und Teil der kroatischen Gespanschaft Zadar. Das erste Mal
wurde IST 1311 erwähnt, allerdings noch unter dem Namen Ost und
1527 wird die Insel unter dem Namen Isto (ital.) erwähnt. Der Name
leitet sich aus dem Illyrischen ab, dessen Bedeutung aber unbekannt
ist. Als die Kroaten die Insel besiedelten, fanden sie Römer vor.
Heute können noch viele Namen vieler Orte auf IST davon abgeleitet
werden: Funestrala, Klunda, Mavrela, Skrivadica und Turtula.

Folge den markierten Weg zur Kirche. Sie erreichst du in ca. 25
Minuten. Wenn du die Kirche besichtigen möchtest, besuche vorher
das Restaurant „Carruba“ und frage dem Besitzer nach
dem Schlüssel. Nach der Rückkehr könntest du dich dort stärken. Das
Essen ist hervorragend (Spezialität: Spaghetti mit Hummer).
And now to the cache:
Follow the marked path to the church. You reach it in about 25
minutes. If you want to visit the church, go first to the
restaurant "Carruba" and ask the owner for the key. After your
return, you could strengthen you there. The food is excellent
(Speciality: Spaghetti with lobster).
