Geocache Description:

This is a series of geocaches that will take you on a circular walk of just under an hour plus find time. It is on well walked paths that become wet and muddy in winter.

The walk takes in part of the Turpin trail and then follows the River Pant (which can flood in winter) back to the village. There are ten caches to find. We have made it child friendly so a few of the caches are clip-lock style boxes with toys/swaps. Others are micro caches smaller than your typical 35mm film canisters, so you’ll need to bring your own pencil! The series finishes back in the village after passing St Michaels church built in the 12th century, you will not need to enter the church to retrieve the cache. Dick Turpin was born Sept 1705 in Hempstead a nearby village; with Time we will place more caches along the Turpin trial which is a charming walk.Best Parking can be found at the bottom of Sparepenny Lane South N051 59.642 E000 23.699 However most of the village is unrestricted, please just park sensibly All co-ordinates are from a smart phone they have been double checked so hopefully accurate, if there are problems please message us and we’ll adjust the co-ordinates as appropriate. In the large caches there will be clues for a bonus cache (not available til 01/07/11), this should be a little different! And care will be required to access it. Watch out for those muggles the route is used by dog walkers and horse riders.

Happy hunting
