This cache will bring you to Malaga Lake, but even though depth is between 4 to 5 feet, we still recommend a boat.
We have added coordinates for the best island landing area. If you gain access to the island at this point, you will have the least likelihood of running into an impenetrable wall of briars. Was able to get in and out on a maintenance check with no loss of blood, even at the height of the briar season.
You will be putting in at the Lee Gonzalez Memorial Park in Malaga (Sgt. Gonzalez was a Franklin Twp. police officer who was killed in the line of duty.)
There is a boat ramp at the parking coordinates.
After you have completed this cache, we strongly recommend cruising the remainder of the lake looking for turtles, the Swan family, and the occasional eagle.
The reference to Modern Jazz is related to friend on the lakefront---we have nothing against that genre!
