Crafers real History (according to Mr Tardis):
The fact that David Crafer was one of the first people to settle here in 1838 and build a hotel is a mere coincidence. What really happened is the hotel was frequented every evening by a local Scotsman (Ewan McGuinness) who was quite a character and by far their best customer.

As he became intoxicated he developed a craving for seafood, especially crayfish. In his thick drunken accent he would call out "CRAYFISH IN! CRAYFISH IN!" and point to his open mouth. Unfortunately for him, the bemused onlookers didn't understood what he was saying. He died in 1839 (in suspicious circumstances) and in his honour the hotel owners named the hotel the Crafers Inn.
