Geocache Description:

Parking at the Metacomet Trail head on Hatchet Hill Road. Head south on the trail.

The usual Metacomet Trail conditions, rocks, roots, mud, ticks, snakes, falloffs, ups and down, some steep.

Cache is a small lock and lock.

This is a series of 5 caches that will lead you to the Traiffville Gorge overlook of the Farmington River.

As you approach the cache area the arrow will point to the right, over the edge, go a little further and you will see a deadend path that will take you to GZ.

You can park at the south end Metacomet Trailhead near the bridge on route 189 and do the series in reverse. We did it this way when double checking cache readings. You will see a well traveled trail going up the bank near the sign for the Metacomet Trail but the blue blazed trail follows the guard rail down to the river. The trail here is poorly marked, washed out in places and overgrown with POISON IVY.
