Geocache Description:

Calgary Parks 100 Project

PARKS 100 CELEBRATION

A partnership between the City of Calgary Parks, the Calgary Public Library and the Calgary Area Cachers to celebrate Calgary Parks 100th anniversary.

Calgary Parks has supplied cache containers and swag for 100 caches which have been placed in 100 parks around Calgary. You're looking for a small Lock'n'Lock. At the time of activation the cache contained a log book, pencil and sharpner, as well as two Trackables and some swag.

Background Information

The Western Irrigation District (WID) has been providing water to agricultural operators in southern Alberta since 1907 through a waterway system that diverts water from the Bow river. The 26Km paved path along the WID canal between Max Bell to Chestermere Lake is level and flat all the way, providing much opportunity for wildlife spotting. It is also an excellent cycling path, the only potential for added difficulty being the wind.
