8+ years after I hid my first regular cache I finally hid a multi. For those of you working on Know Your Local Nebraska Cacher Challenge, GC2M36D, this gives me four kinds of caches placed. And also mindful of the various challenge caches with alphanumeric requirements I chose a name beginning with a letter not used for a multi in the Lincoln/Omaha/Southeastern Nebraska area.
The cache is NOT at the posted coordinates.
The cache is located at N40°35.AB4, W96°38.XYZ
The posted coordinates will take you to a World War II memorial. Please visit the area during daylight hours and be respectful of the surroundings. There are four men honored on the memorial. Three of them were born in the same year. From this year subtract 1195 This will give .XYZ of the cache’s west coordinate.
Next go to N40° 35.734 W 96° 38.725. You do not need a parks permit to park here. This is the closest parking to the actual cache location.
Here you will find a group of signs. On the Sport Fish and Wildlife Restoration sign at lower left count the number of species pictured which are members of the Animal Kingdom. Add 2 to this number to calculate A in the cache’s North coordinate.
On the sign between the hunter’s card box and the gate count the number of red letter N . Add 4 to this number to calculate B in the cache’s North coordinate.
You will walk about .2 mile to reach the cache from this location. There’s a good track and a short final bushwhack. Please replace and conceal the cache as you found it.
