Should you wish to replace the cache after 28 days has passed please create a new cache listing so it can be reviewed as a new cache.

Geocache Description:

Strathy RSL

Welcome to Blacklegends 76th cache hide....
This is a cache i have been meaning to place for a while. This is another example of an anti aircraft gun, but is not in as good condition as the ones featured in my "Gun" caches in Finley and Tocumwal. Check out the images below, of both the gun and original manufacture plate.

The gun itself is set out the front of the Strathmerton RSL. Normally it is pretty muggle free, at the time of placing the cache, it was closed, however, i have seen many people here, mainly in groups, at different times.

I believe the gun is another example of a Bofor 40mm. The main features are the same. For a bit more information on the Bofor 40mm visit this link 40mm Bofor information

As for the hide itself, well it is a bison tube hidden on the fence side to give a bit of shelter from muggles who may be watching from inside the RSL, if they are there. The cache is in an obvious spot for this sort of hide. This cache is about bringing you to a fantastic location and viewing a piece of Australian military history. Kids will have fun here, either climbing over the gun searching, just watch out for the spiders. I saw a few webs when placing the cache.

HAVE FUN
