Geocache Description:

CONGRATS TO THE GEO TRIO FOR FIRST TO FIND

Just off the walking path

Jimmie Davis State Park, near Chatham, Louisiana has an abundance of wildlife. Many deer roam within the park and many species of birds, which include sightings of the American Eagle, are within its boundaries.

There is a small charge for entrance into this park, unless you are camping in one of the RV/tent sites or staying in one of its beautiful lodges or cabins.

There is a new walking trail inside the park which is concrete and maintained for your walking/hiking pleasure. This is a great new addition to this wonderful park along with a new boat dock/pier adjacent to the camping sites. Parking is near the head of the walking trail and this treasure lies not far off this trail. Happy Hunting. For First to Find, we have left a 1943 Steel Penny. This was the only year this penny was minted and steel was used because it was during WWII. Small items can be left in this camoed container. While you are here, find all the other caches located inside the park.

The management of this State park has allowed us to place this cache for your pleasure in hunting and we thank them for this opportunity. Happy hunting - please replace as you found it so it will be fun for the next cachers to find and as always, practice stealth and Cache In, Trash Out.
