Geocache Description:

Herolds Bay is a cozy little beach. Ideal for the family to spend the day.

To the east of the beach you will find a big sign warning you: "DANGER/GEVAAR BATHING DANGEROUS CLOSE TO ROCKS"

Right below this sign you will find the start of a small fishing trail. Follow this trail round the point.
(there are some cemented steps to make a pathway, keep a eye out as they are sometimes very hard to spot)
About 200m from the sign, you will get to a green wooden staircase. (this is also visible from the western side of the beach) Go over the staircase and continue on the pathway.
Just before the staircase, the path splits in two. The lower route takes you to the staircase while the high route goes over/around the crevice.
The higher route is definitely not recommended for someone suffering from Acrophobia (hoogte-vrees)

The cache is located around the next corner, to the left of the lower pathway (when facing away from Herolds Bay.

PLEASE NOTE THIS CACHE CAN ONLY BE REACHED AT LOW TIDE! CONSULT A TIDE TABLE BEFORE ATTEMPTING THIS CACHE OR PREPARE TO GET WET(also keep in mind that you have to come back this way, so watch the tide so as to not get caught and trapped on the rocks.)

ATTEMPTING TO FIND THE CACHE AT HIGH TIDE WOULD BE VERY DANGEROUS!!

(Herolds bay is about halfway between Mosselbaai and Knysna, so the tide for either one of the latter should be acurate enough for Herolds bay.)

Finding this cache entails lots of clambering and climbing over the rocks that could be very dangerous when wet. And is definitely not recommended for small children.
