Geocache Description:

The Gerber Horse Camp opened on June 25, 2011 and we participated in the special Poker Ride hosted by the High Desert Trail Riders Back Country Horsemen from Klamath Falls. This camp has six sites with beautiful pipe corrals at all the sites. Some have 4-horse, but most are 2-horse. There are two outhouses and real water faucets at both ends of the loop. It is very well laid out and all the sites are level and graveled! There is a nightly fee for this camp, but it is very reasonable.

There is a 6.8 mile trail that makes a nice loop. It has easy areas and some challenging spots with rock, but nothing too hard. There is another trail that goes to the north end of the reservoir. It is an out and back ride, but very scenic. You can also try cross-country riding down by the reservoir.

This cache is hidden near the day use parking so you don't have to bother campers to find it. It is a medium-sized camoed peanut butter jar with a log book and some trade items. It is at 4950' elevation so will not be accessible when it snows.
