Geocache Description:

The Pemberton Mackenzie area is accessed via the steep, deactivated Cell Tower Road, which contains some of the steepest, more agressive trails that have made Pemberton B.C. so popular in the mountain bike freeriding/paragliding scene. Searching during daylight hours, summer only & 4 X 4 vehicle strongly recommended.

The cache is hidden at the top of the new Pemberton Paraglide Launch, which is a clearing approx 25 minute drive up the Cell Tower Road. One can drive a 4 X 4 vehicle all the way to the top or park 3/4 of the way up and hike the approximately 6 km distance via the 'Middle Earth' Trail, coord N50 21.105, W122 47.802. The trail is steep and full of switchbacks, with a rewarding spectacular view of Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains, including Black Tusk at the top! There is a 2nd cache also located on the road up to the launch. At 1st fork in road, go left, at 2nd fork, go right, at 3rd fork go left. There is a chain across the entrance to the paraglider entrance to prohibit motorized vehicle traffic on the grass area used by paragliders to launch. The cache is a small camo box containing collector pins.
