This was part of the former Kilmarnock Chess series [Castle 2], but has been renamed due to additional archiving.
Between Knockintiber and Crosshouse once stood the Busbie Castle. This was located in the hamlet of Busbie, which has now amalgamated with Knockintiber. As the castle fell into a state of disrepair it was raised to the ground in the 1950's, and unfortunately there isn't even foundations left to signify its' positioning.
The farm slightly further down towards Crosshouse is beleived to have acted as a mill for Busbie Castle, running from the Carmel Water.
And now for the cache. This is a small plastic box with a log, pencil and a few swaps. Once you are in the right area it shouldn't take too long to locate. Depends on your approach path white trainers won't be suitable as it can be boggy underfoot. You have been warned! I would suggest parking in Knockentiber and walking a few hundred yards down towards Crosshouse along the pavement and enter the fields at the low fence. Happy hunting!
