If it's treasure you're after, this is the cache for you. The booty in this cache allegedly fell out of the overstuffed pockets of Blackbeard himself and now waits to be rediscovered by you. Like most pirates treasure, you'll need a boat to find it.
Put your canoe or kayak where Rowell Road and Haigh Road meet and head downstream (see waypoints for launch locations). You can also put a boat in near the Pickpocket Dam. Both launch points are about equidistant from the cache. Downriver launch point is a more slowmoving river trip. Upriver water moves faster but not difficult to paddle against. If you have two cars, drop one downriver and make the trip a one way adventure.
The bounty rests on an island, but watch out for snapping turtles and angry crows that protect the treasure.
