This is the largest head of Soviet leader Vladimir Lenin ever built.It was opened in 1971, November 5th at the Soviet Square in Ulan-Ude, in front of the House of the Government of Republic Buryatia. The project was shown at exhibitions in Paris and Montreal. The authors were awarded with the State Prize at the Moscow exhibition dedicated to Lenin's image in pictures and statues. The head of Lenin is cast of bronze and set on the base of polished granite. The height of the head is 7.7 meters, the weight is 42 tonnes, the height of the base is 6.3 meters.
