The cache is NOT at the published coordinates but is not too far away. This one will probably require a little research, yes, there are those who can do it off the top of their heads, but not many.
The following California cities/towns span the entire state and range from cool coastal locations to hot desert spots; from below sea level to well above. Quite a variety indeed, but they all have at least one thing in common, you need to figure out what that is in order to solve this puzzle. The number to the left shows where your answer will go in the chart below, the number to the right tells you which of the three letters to use (hmmm...big hint!). You'll also need to use the provided "Handy Decoder Chart".
Please, no spoilers in your logs, let everyone have a chance to work this out on their own. If you're completely stumped, send me an email and I'll give you a clue (although there are those that think I don't have one  ) This should be an easy find once you come up with the coordinates.
