Cache is placed in an area just off the B1153. A small parking area is available at cache site.
When placed the cache contained various articles related to the sport of cycling. Would be good if other cachers keep up the theme if possible.
Cache is placed in connection with the 98th edition of the Tour De France in 2011. Starting on Saturday 2nd July the race will cover around 3400 kilometres. The main competitions included in the 3 week race are:
Overall Leader - Yellow Jersey awarded to the rider with the lowest aggregate time
King of the Mountains – Polka Dot Jersey awarded to the rider scoring the most points in this category.
Points – Green Jersey awarded to the rider competing for sprints.
Best young Rider – White Jersey is for riders below 26 years old.
This area is used by local cycling club King’s Lynn Cycling Club for their annual hill climb competition. Starting from the bottom of the climb and finishing 200 yards past the cache site. It is measured just under 1 mile and the winner usually completes the ascent in under 3 minutes.
The view from cache site area is one of the finest around. So sit back and enjoy the view, you never know if you are around at competition time you could watch the cyclists defying gravity to become the champion.
