APT 1: Highway 14 Travel Bug Rest Stop Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

General Disarray: Greetings from Geocaching.com

I noticed that this cache has been temporarily disabled for a period of time well in excess of the period of ‘a few weeks’ as contemplated by the cache guidelines published on Geocaching.com. While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can't do so forever. Please either repair/replace this cache, or archive it so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if you haven’t done so already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future.

Thanks for your understanding,
General Disarray

Geocache Description:

This is part of a “Avard Power Trail” to bring you off of Oklahoma highway 14 to the small town of Avard, OK. The town may be considered a living ghost town. The short drive east from highway 14, as well as north to US 64 are paved.

This cache is a Travel Bug/Geocoin stop. If you have a traveler, feel free to swap. If there is a traveler in this cache, and you can help it move, please do. Traveler are meant to move, and not be stuck in a cache.

The cache is a 2 qt. container tucked away in in the the grass. For a quick find, look near the corner post of the fence. No need to cross the fence.

Parking is available close by. The road to Avard is not heavily traveled, but is subject to semi traffic going to the rail transfer facility and grain elevator. You should not have to stop for very long for any of these caches. Enjoy

Thanks to Know Method for help in maintaining these caches.
