The first of several cache I have planned for here. Since it is
the Charles H Bronson State Forest I plan to use Charles Bronson
films for the name of my caches. The two are NOT related as far as
I know.
I came out here for the first time in the winter of '09 to pick
a route for the Florida Trail and the white blazed River Trail. It
was pretty cool to blaze new trail. In the winter of'10 we began to
cut the trail. Some changes were made to the original. Several
cachers were here to help. theboonieman, The Sharrow Family, TAB
Juggler, and Abventurers. Next year we will be continuing the River
Trail to the north side of the tract. Thanks to the hard work of
many FTA volunteers.

No matter which direction you come from it will be a long hike.
The best parking is at the north end of Phillips Road. There is a
big parking area there. The charge is three dollars. You can come
in from the Orlando Wetlands. From there it is free. Or you can
come in from the Chuluota Wilderness. I went from Phillips road and
the hike was 8 miles.
Cache is a peanut butter jar. I liked the hiding spot and I knew
that would fit here. I thought of an ammo can but when the trees
grow it may get stuck there.
Machine-Gun Kelly (1958) is a film directed by Roger Corman,
chronicling the criminal activities of the real-life George
"Machine Gun" Kelly. The film was considered low budget, but
received good critical reviews. The film was the first lead role
for actor Charles Bronson.
George Kelly Barnes (July 18, 1895 – July 18, 1954),
better known as "Machine Gun Kelly", was a notorious American
criminal during the prohibition era. Kelly's nickname came from his
favorite weapon, a Thompson submachine gun. His most famous crime
was the kidnapping of oil tycoon & businessman Charles Urschel
in July 1933 for which he, and his gang, earned $200,000 ransom.
The FBI investigation eventually led to Kelly's arrest in Memphis,
Tennessee on September 26, 1933. His crimes also included
bootlegging and armed robbery.
