Congratulations to ddart12 for FTF!

St. Rita of Cascia, b. 1381, was an Italian mother who is famous for getting unbalanced cranks back on the right side of the fence. Long before the days of mob movies and HBO series, Rita was no stranger to Italian family drama. She tamed her abusive husband by sheer sweetness (please note: this method of dealing with abusers is not recommended unless you have been officially canonized a saint). Unfortunately, she didn't tame his business associates, who stabbed him to death. Rita's boys had only one interest after their father's betrayal and murder: vendetta. Rita, through a combination of persuasion, prayer, and guilt trips known to all mothers of wayward children, convinced them to stop the madness and just... let it go. After they died of natural causes, she tried to join a convent, but was turned away because some of the residents were from the rival family, and the sisters were afraid of a violent showdown right there in the nunnery. Exasperated, Rita turned the charm on again and convinced these Italian Hatfields and McCoys to let bygones be bygones, with the tale ending in a big happy hug (literally). The moral of the story is that if you are following a bad path or trying the wrong approach, it doesn't mean you won't eventually find the right way to go, especially if Rita is involved.

St. Rita's symbols are roses, figs, and bees. Always thinking of you, the intrepid geocacher, I placed the container where you do not need to worry about rose thorns nor bee stings. Alas, there are no delicious fig cookies here, either.
