Geocache Description:

Not placed where you would have to stand in traffic

Hurricane Creek is very different since the tornado passed over. The disaster from the storm is reminisent of Waveland Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina. I have been working to place a cache at each Eagle Scout project site, but placing one on the Mississippi Gulf Coast would be difficult to maintain. Instead, I thought that here, looking over Hurricane Creek, would be worthy place for a cache.

This cache was place for the scout that learned about the meaning of Helpful; it is also placed for all those that have also helped out in this task of returning to a sense of normalcy. The effort and support of our immediate community has been overwhelming; not to mention the same received from around the state and the nation.

In Waveland, the scout lead his Troop distributing food in a parking lot and then clearing lots around town. The rewarding task the guys did was to clean up a scout hut. While doing that a pickup stopped and the driver came over to the boys. He told them that right after the storm he needed shelter, and he had taken two tents out of the damaged building. The scouts said it was okay and wished him well.

A Scout is Helpful.
