Have you ever wanted to do a challenge composed of nothing but the the best caches as voted on by your caching peers? If so than this challenge is for you!

If you are a Geocacher in the state of Washington, please join the Washington State Geocaching Association. This is a great way to get the most out of Geocaching in our region. Simply go to the WSGA Web Page for details!

About the WSGA COTM contest:
The Cache of the Month was a contest managed by the Washington State Geocaching Association whereby any cacher can nominate a cache they like or have enjoyed finding. Full members of the WSGA were then eligible to vote on the nominees to pick a monthly winner! The basic rules for the COTM were that anyone can nominate a cache that has been active for less than a year during the month in which the nominator has found that cache. At the end of the month, WSGA members (full, paid members only) were eligible to vote for the cache that they want to win. The COTM contest ran from June of 2005 through November of 2016. The contest may have ended, but this cache will live on for the time being in memory of the many great caches that won this contest.

The rules for this challenge:
1) To be eligible to find this cache you must have found and logged 30 winners of the WSGA COTM contest. Caches that you own that have won the COTM also qualify towards the 30 cache requirement. All past WSGA COTM winners are eligible to be used, regardless of when you found them and including former winners that are now archived.

2) Once you have logged or are the owner of at least 30 former COTM winners you may go to find the final, you do not need to wait for my approval however, you must provide me with a list of the eligible caches that you have found either by a) creating a bookmark list that contains all 30 of your eligible caches, by b) posting a note to the cache page once you have your 30 finds, or by c) listing the eligible caches in your found log. Any finds that do not utilize one of those three options will be deleted. You will be eligible to repost your log once you have provided me with your list.

***Please note that there is no requirement that you are a member of the WSGA in order to participate in this challenge. Just as non WSGA members could nominate and win the COTM contest, so too can non members particpate in this challenge.***

To see the complete list of eligible caches for this challenge, please consult this Bookmark List maintianed by the WSGA showing all past winners of the Cache of the Month contest.

Dedication:
This cache is being dedicated to the memory of Brian Parkhurst, aka Allanon who passed away on July 20th, 2010. Allanon was an active member of the WSGA and Secretary of the Association from 2007-2009. Allanon was also a fixture at the annual WSGA Summer campouts attending all campouts from 2005 until 2009. Because of this dedication, the location of the challenge final has been placed in the area now known as Allanon's Forest where you can still find a cache placed by the Great Druid himself as well as many others placed by his friends in his memory. If you come to the area to log the final, please consider paying visits to the other caches along the way all of which can be found on the Bookmark List maintained by grossi, Allanon's Forest.

The Cache:
The cache IS located at the posted coordinates. The container is a mortar can and although should not be difficult to find, is well hidden and requires a walk of more than a mile up a logging road to get to. The origiinal contents of the container include trading items that kids would enjoy, videos, games, books and other typical toys. Also included are a couple of Travel Bugs of my own that I am starting off from this location. The first finder will have their choice of prizes; either a fully stocked pre made lock-n-lock cache, complete with a travel bug dog tag, trade items and a log book. Their second choice is an unactivated 2011 WSGA Geocoin. The FTF should take only one, leaving the other prize for the Second to Find.

As a final note please understand that although this cache was placed with the blessing of the administrator of the WSGA Cache of the Month, the WSGA is not involved in it's placment or maintanence. Please contact me with questions about the challenge. I value feedback and would welcome any comments or suggestions in the WSGA forums but I am the final authority on the administration of this challenge.

I hope you enjoy completing the task of qualifying for this final. Thank you for taking the time to complete the requirements as well as for finding the cache.

Congratulations to hydnsek for your FTF!
