Fairgrounds Drive-in theater Opened July 8, 1959, It closed after the 1986 season. The lack of money and decline in poeple forced it to close. Movie theaters built heavily in the late 80s-2000s, and adding thousands of screens meant that the closest theater was now much closer than it used to be. That made it more difficult to coax movie-goers to inconvenient drive-in locations.
Located about a half mile west of the South Park Fairgrounds.The screen, poles, marquee, and snack bar/projection room remained for several years after its last night of operation,but now everything is gone. A housing development now occupies the drive-in site.

I never got to go to this drive-in when it was open. We use to hangout in some of the old builds. We climbed the back to the screen a few times.
