Geocache Description:

This place changes peoples lives.
As you sign the log have a look around and then remember how lucky we are when we're happy and healthy. This is the only facility in Victoria like this, and I want to thank them for all their help.

An Aussie Geo Coin is yours if you go into Suite 6 & tell the receptionist that you know Stacey from the Chronic Pain Rehab Program & that you're a Geo-Cacher! (If you're there on a Monday or Thursday it'll make Stacey(me) laugh!) FTF Coin for First to find!

The Valley Rehabilitation Centre runs a unique Chronic Pain Management Program.

Chronic regional pain usually is the result of a major injury / trauma. When they've tried every physical medical manipulation (operations, nerve blocks, differing physio), and your surgeon has told you to 'put your dreams in a box under your bed' - and your not even old enough to vote - hopefully some one will steer you here.

"Clients in our program are encouraged to develop skills to self-manage pain while reducing the reliance on health care providers and medications."

That's what they say. In other words they are teaching people to live with their pain, teaching me to accept that the day the racehorse I was riding smashed into the rail, and crushed my knee in the impact will be the end of that dream, but not the end of all my dreams.

It's a big goal, I hope they succeed!

The thing for me is that having thrown 12 galloping machines around, starting at 4am every morning, I had very little time for 'whingey' people how couldn't suck up the pain. I guess the greatest teacher is experience.

Geo Caching is the most outdoor, interesting, activity? hobby? sport? I've been able to do since my accident. It's getting me back out there, and it makes me laugh :)
