Path to Springbok: Adventurer Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

ROTSIP: No response from the owner.
This cache appears to be gone. As there has been no cache to find for months, and it seems unlikely that it will be replaced soon, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.
If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email, quoting the GC number), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
Thanks for the past fun.

Geocache Description:

Path to Springbok Series: Adventurer

This cache is part of a series of five caches, each cache represents one advancement badge in the Scout Program.

I am placing these caches as part of my Springbok Hike, the last requirement for me to achieve the Top Award in Scouting Program. If you follow my route you will find all the caches and also be part of my Springbok Hike.

Adventurer is the second Advancement badge that a scout achieves. At this level you build on the basics learnt Pathfinder. You learn more of the basics in scouting such as Knotting, First Aid, Camping, Pioneering and Mapping This badge is still where we have to learn thing and help with the planning of events. I got this badge so that I could attend PLTU(Patrol Leader Training Unit) in 2009 it was the 50th course and it was well worth the blood, sweat and tears earning this badge took a lot of time as it required another scout to be doing a higher level so that they could teacher and let you assist in the planning and running of events. I learnt how to manage a first aid scene and how to patch up wounds like cuts and fractures. I was taught survival and back woods skills like stalking and cooking on an open fire. The skills learnt in the previous badge were reinforced and expanded upon. It was after PLTU that I decided to go for my Springbok top award. The cache is about 6km into the hike from Kaapsehoop to Barrets coaches. We found a rock that looked as if it was balancing on a point and being Scouts had to climb it. This should be an easy find. See you at the next cache, I hope you enjoy this one
