Geocache Description:

Path to Springbok: Explorer

This cache is part of a series of five caches, each cache represents one advancement badge in the Scout Program.

I am placing these caches as part of my Springbok Hike, the last requirement for me to achieve the Top Award in Scouting Program. If you follow my route you will find all the caches.

Explorer is the fourth Advancement badge that a scout achieves. At this level you are teaching other scouts and also learning how to plan and run events. In order to achieve this level you also have to earn six interest badges. I Earned the following: Backwoods, Veldcaft, First aid, Cooks, Mapping and Handyman. This badge was long and difficult, because I had to earn six other badges in order to attain it. All the planning that was done was looked at with a fine tooth comb and all the scouts that were taught are tested a week or two later to make sure it was done properly. This is the longest badge to do as the six interest badges are specific and done at different times in the year and it is tested externally. See you at the next cache, I hope you enjoy this one
