Gamle Aron Olsen Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

cervisvenator: Hi

While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for the cache owner and block other cachers from placing a cache in the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can’t do so forever.

Nothing seems to happen with this cache listing, so it is now archived, so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if it hasn’t been done already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

If the owner wants it reopened, send me an e-mail and I’ll be happy to unarchive the cache listing if it still satisfies the requirement/guidelines.

(This reviewer note is in English so non-Norwegian cache owners, geocachers and cache reviewers can understand what it says.)

Thanks for your understanding,
Cervis Venator

Geocache Description:

English: This is our first cache. The cache is a small lock'n lock box, which from the start contains log book, pencil, FTF-pin, some tradables for the children and
a brand new Travel Bug. We hope for a lot of nice logs here. :)

Gamle Aron Olsen

English:

Cottager Aron Olsen was born in Sörmland in Sweden in 1830. He married Berte Marie Andersdatter, who was born in Eiker in 1829.
Together they had children named Martine, Johannes, Andreas, Josefine, Anna and Hans. They lived here - the story says they lived in the brown house you can see not far from this cache, the house is now used by Aronsløkka school.
The area of Aronsløkka is named after Aron, who was the last cottager here. They lived here until 1890.

The children in this area learn about this story, and also a song with the Norwegian lyrics mentioned above.
