Just outside the So. Meadows Campground.
This is our very first cache, so it's pretty basic. We got a wild hair and threw it together while camping and doing some geocaching over the July 4th weekend. It's not too well camouflaged but we were working with stuff on hand.
It's on private land, but we were assured by the camp host that the landowner has no objection to the campers hiking around the wetlands and beaver dams that are in the area and has even provided a gate of sorts in the fence between the campground and the wetlands (follow the obvious drainage "ditch" on the NW side of the CG to the gate). Apparently the rancher's cattle only graze on the west side of the stream and not the east side, where the cache is located.
It contains a compass token that we'd like to see stay in Colorado but move around so if you're moving on east, west, north or south and are going to find more caches, take it with you and drop it off! Not an official trackable, but what the heck. Also contains a Bic pen and a small light in case you're doing a twilight stroll.
