Geocache Description:

Welcome to the historic Coburn Hotel, established in 1889.

[Note: cache is now inside the pub, after the outside seat required repairs, so try for this one after 11am].

Cockburn (or Coburn) was a large railway town in the late 1800's.

Crossing the border meant a change of train gauge, so all steam engines had to be turned around.

Have a look inside the pub and imagine what Cockburn was like as a bustling town.

These days, a quiet place.

While you're here...
- note the windows along the side of the pub
- say hello to the proprietors if you see them around

I've coerced the publican at the Coburn Hotel to be the cache guardian. Drop in and say hello, and tell them a Geocaching story. They'll eventually get the hang of it!
