Geocache Description:

Cache is a camoed large pill bottle placed along the fence line of Hamlet Cemetery in Mercer County.

I placed another 11 Illinois Spirit caches that are near old cemeteries in northwest Mercer County. The caches and hides are nothing special, just placed to bring you out to some great old cemeteries you might not know are there. The difficulty for many will be in figuring out how to get to the cemetery.

Hamlet Cemetery was established in 1847 and is visible from the highway. I used to see it every day driving back and forth from the Quad Cities to the former Westmer School District.

Please be respectful while visiting the cemetery and no caching after dark. The cache contains 2 gold dollars, 1 for FTF and 1 for STF and swag for kids. Please bring your own pen.

Great country roads - some blacktop and some gravel. Rarely any muggles and no poison ivy!!
