I placed another 11 Illinois Spirit caches that are near old cemeteries in northwest Mercer County. The caches and hides are nothing special, just placed to bring you out to some great old cemeteries you might not know are there. The difficulty for many will be in figuring out how to get to the cemetery.

Eliza Creek Cemetery contains some very old stones. The oldest I saw was 1842, but I didn't look at them all. I used to travel between the schools in Eliza, New Boston, Keithsburg, and Joy, so it was fun for me to drive through some of the other roads in the former Westmer District. I now see why we had more snow days than the other districts.

Please be respectful while visiting the cemetery and no caching after dark. The cache contains swag for kids, and 2 gold dollars, 1 for FTF and 1 for STF. It also contains a bison tube for anyone wanting to place a cache in the area. Please bring your own pen.

Great country roads - some blacktop and some gravel. Rarely any muggles and no poison ivy!!
Enjoy!
