Geocache Description:

Shotover Country Park offers everyone a chance to enjoy a place of beauty and history, located to the East of Oxford.

Park features include:
117 hectares (289 acres)
spectacular views from the top across south Oxfordshire
intimate mosaic of hidden valleys and varied landscapes
diverse habitats and a haven for wildlife
disabled access and paths (from Brasenose Farm entrance)

The ancient woods, flowery meadows, marshes, ponds and bracken-covered slopes support a wealth of wildlife:

Celadines and Wood Anemones
Bluebells
Common spotted Orchids
Bettony and Saw Wort
Knapweed and Oxeye Daisy
Heath Bedstraw
Sheep's Sorrel
White Admiral butterflies
Black Caps
Garden and Willow Warblers
Blackbirds, Wrens and Song Thrushes
Green Woodpeckers
Foxes
Muntjac and Roe Deer

There are various activities that take part in this park, one of them includes 'orienteering' which is basically what I am trying to encourage here.

To find the cache you will need to visit a few of the permanent 'orienteering' markers to obtain the 3 digit code marked on each one of those listed. I will not expect you to complete the whole circuit, but just the few select numbers scattered around the area. I suggest you use the parking area listed and complete the circuit in the order shown.

Marker number 10 = S?E = A
Marker number 08 = ?OY = B
Marker number 20 = MK? = C
Marker number 02 = ?MB = D
Marker number 05 = ?OF = E
Marker number 17 = I?S = F

Translate the letters to numbers in the time honoured fashion of A = 1 to Z = 6 where all leading digits in two digit numbers are omitted so Z= 26 but it taken as 6.

N 51° 4(C+2).DFF W 001° 1B.EAD

If you have calculated correctly your result will be within 1km of the last marker post (17), but not within the park itself!

You can check your answers for this puzzle on Geochecker.com.

I have added an attribute as kid friendly, but please note the walking distance involved in obtaining this cache!
